People. Place. Power.

Tosin Bamidele is a designer and researcher working at the intersection of architecture, planning, and computational social science. Currently a PhD student in Regional Planning at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, she explores how development decisions shape public identity, urban form, and economic outcomes. With over a decade of experience designing civic, educational, and residential projects in Nigeria and the U.S., her work combines spatial inquiry with data-driven analysis and visual storytelling. Her research is rooted in a commitment to more inclusive, sustainable futures – integrating design theory, cultural context, and evidence-based planning methods. Through illustrations, analytical tools, and policy frameworks, she visualizes complex relationships between people, place, and power. Bamidele is currently affiliated with the NSF-funded Future of Work project, where she investigates the spatial and social impacts of automation in the heavy, long-haul trucking industry.
