I’m Tosin, an architect with a passion for creating spaces that resonate with people and their lives. My work explores the intersection of culture, community, and creativity, drawing on a rich heritage and deep commitment to innovation.
With a background in architecture and business administration, I bring a unique perspective to the planning and design industry. I am particularly interested in exploring how urban environments can be designed to foster inclusivity, equity, and sustainability. Architecturally, I have explored this theme through the design of through the design of higher education, civic, and residential projects in Nigeria and the United States.
I am dedicated to exploring alternative approaches to planning and design, in theory and practice. This is rooted in a desire to decenter Western-centric notions of people-place relationships and celebrate the different elements that have influenced my style and expression. As an illustrator, I use my art to visualize complex ideas and bring clarity to various planning processes. Whether through architectural illustrations, graphic design, or other endeavors, I aim to create visual pieces that provoke thought and emotion and promote culture.
I'm currently pursuing a PhD in regional planning at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and my research interests include data-driven storytelling and economic policies that aid community revitalization. I am also currently a research assistant on an NSF grant focused on the future of work and the impact of technology on various populations.
